Na Lips Zetu Huwa Zinahitaji Matunzo!!

How To Take Care Of Your Lips?

Like every other part of the body lips too need to cared and pampered to look soft, smooth and sexy. Lips play an important role in defining the look of the face. Dry and cracked lips spoil the whole look and the face appears dull and unattractive. Smooth lips also help the lip stick to spread evenly. Moist lips set the perfect mood for romance and stand out in the crowd.

Lip begin to look unattractive with age, too much of exposure to sun and several other factors.

Exfoliation of lips

Exfoliating the lips makes it smooth. To exfoliate, rub the tooth brushbristles on the upper and lower lip several times. Any wash cloth can be used instead of toothbrush. It has to be dipped in warm water and gently rubbed on the lips concentrating one lip at a time. There is no need to use soap, facial exfoliant or toothpaste.

Condition the lips

Once exfoliating is complete, the next step is to apply a conditioning balm after the lips are dry. In fact, if the conditioning balm stays all night on the lips, it would yield better results. Even the lipsticks used should contain moisturiser to keep the lips hydrated.

There are lots of lipsticks available in the market that have conditioner and has a matte effect as well. The conditioner will help the lips to hold more moisture and matte tends to dry it. Another option is to use lip colors that don’t condition the lips with natural conditioners like vitamin E, jojoba oil, and beeswax.

Protection from sun.

Most lips get chapped and wrinkles appear because of the sun. They don’t contain melanin as parts of the body and are extremely susceptible to sun’s rays.
The best way to protect the lips is by using lipstick with sunscreen or use lipstick on sunscreen.

Age specific lip care
For the 20′s

Nothing much is required if the above tips are adhered. Even wearing a lip gloss would look attractive at this age.

For the 30′s

At 30's the ageing process starts with slight wrinkles around the lips and fine lines on the face.

Retinol will help to prevent this. Else Collagen or cosmetic surgery could be opted. At this age the lips start loosing their definition so lip liner along with shiny shade of lipstick should be used.

For the 40′s

At 40, the lips get paler and start loosing colour. So the lip tint should be replaced with creamy lipstick of darker than natural shades. Ensure that it’s not too dark as they make things worse.

Stay Beautiful Ladies!!

Usafi Wa Uso

What is Facial?

Jinsi Ya Kutunza Na Kusafisha Ngozi Ya Uso

A facial is one of the best ways to take care of your skin, especially when it's given by an experienced, knowledgeable and professional beautician. A facial cleans, exfoliates (Exfoliation is the removal of the oldest dead skin cells that cling to the skin's outermost surface) and nourishes the skin, promoting a clear, well-hydrated complexion, and can help your skin look younger.

A facial is the second most popular spa treatment after a massage.A facial works best when it is part of an on-going program of skin care.

The Basic Steps of a Facial:

Consultation
. A facial should begin with a consultation. The facialist might have you fill out a form that has questions about your skin concerns, your diet, how much water you drink, drugs and supplements you take, and products you are currently using. This can affect your skin and what kind of treatments she recommends. Ni muhimu sana kujieleza ili anayekuhudumia aweze kujua ni jinsi gani atakusaidia.

Cleansing. After wrapping your hair with a towel or headband, the facialist begins a facial with a thorough cleansing, using cotton pads, facialist wipes or sponges.

Skin Analysis. The facialist covers your eyes and looks at your skin through a brightly lit magnifying lamp. He or she is determining your basic skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive or normal) and skin conditions (acne, blackheads, whiteheads, aging, sun-damage, dehydration, etc.). Pia tunatumia skin testers kuweza kutambua aina ya ngozi yako kabla ya kuanza kusafisha uso wako. The facialist then chooses the appropriate products and treatments, and consults with you about what he or she sees and recommends.

Steam. Most facials use a machine that directs a thin vapor of warm steam to your face. This is relaxing and helps softens up any blackheads and whiteheads to be extracted. If you have very sensitive skin, the facialist may not use steam.

Exfoliation using a mechanical or chemical exfoliant. Mechanical exfoliants have a gritty texture that rubs away the surface dead skin cells. This type of exfoliation usually happens during the steam. Chemical exfoliation uses enzymes and acids to loosen the bond between skin cells. A gentle enzyme treatment can be done during the steam. Stronger chemical peels, which vary in intensity, can be a stand-alone treatment or part of the facial. It is not generally an "upgrade" and done in a series. It is not done with steam.

Extractions. This is the removal of blackheads or whiteheads if you want it and need it. People have different pain tolerance for extractions. They can be uncomfortable, especially on thin or ruddy skin. Extractions can cause broken capillaries and discoloration if done improperly. Ufanyaji wa extractions ni kwa wale wanaohitaji hii huduma (wenye chunusi).

Facial massage using classic strokes like effleurage (Effleurage is a gliding stroke used in Swedish massage) to both relax you and stimulate your skin and facial muscles.

A facial mask targeted to your skin type (dry, oily, combination, sensitive, mature) and condition. During the facial, the facialist should stay in the room and give you a scalp massage or some other service. If they leave the room to let you "relax," don't go back!
Final application of toner, serums, moisturizer and sunscreen if it's daytime. Tunatumia aina tofauti za toner, moisturizer na sunscreen kulingana na aina ya ngozi yako.
Advice on home skin care.

The facialist will tell you how she thinks you can take better care of your skin and recommend products. Some people feel uncomfortable with this step because it involve product recommendations, but it is part of her job. You aren't obligated to buy anything, and he or she shouldn't be too pushy or make you feel bad about your skin.

Who Gives A Facial?

A professional facial should be given by a licensed facialist with special training in skin care.

A cosmetologist is legally allowed to give facials. You also want to find a facialist who is knowledgeable, fastidious, and passionate about their work.

How Often Should I Get A Facial?

It varies from person to person. Ideally, get a facial monthly because that's how long it takes the skin to regenerate. Try to have a facial at least four times a year, as the season changes. You may need it more frequently if you are trying to clear up a case of acne, especially at the beginning. Otherwise, once a month is plenty. You can overdo it, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Tusafishe na Tutunze Miguu Yetu

What is a 'pedicure'?

A pedicure involves shaping and cutting the toenails, pushing back the cuticles, and taking off unwanted callouses on the feet. As a client getting a pedicure, it's an enjoyment, it's a treat. A pedicure is a must, because we are on our feet more than anything else in the world, and we have all that pressure on our feet depending on whether we're wearing high heels. By taking off that callous and applying all this moisture, and getting the foot rub, you'll really feel like a new person after a pedicure.

What is the best tool for clipping my toenails?
You have to remember that your toenails are thicker than your fingernails. What you could use for the toenails is a heavier stainless steel toenail clipper. They have fingernail clippers and toenail clippers, so the toenail clippers are going to be heavier. The toenail clipper can be rounded at the end, or you can use the one that I prefer which looks like a cuticle clipper, but it's much heavier. It is specifically made for toenails, so as you're clipping you have more of a control to the shape of the nail.

How should my toenails be trimmed when getting a pedicure?

When getting your toenails trimmed during a pedicure, they should be cut straight across, and when they file, they have to lightly file the corners. Never cut into the corners of the nail. You want to be careful with how much you cut off the toenail. You don't want to cut too short, where you're cutting into the flesh, which could lead into bacteria, and all kinds of different infections. And plus, if you're cutting too short, by putting your shoes on, you're going to feel that sensitivity of pain, when they're short. So you want to stick to cutting to where there's only a little bit of free edge left on the edge.

What is a 'pumice stone'?

A pumice stone is shaped like a bar of soap, with the rounded sides. A pumice stone normally has two sides; one side is coarser than the other side. The coarse side is used to break down the callous, and the smooth side is used to go back over it so that the skin is nice and smooth. Since the coarse side is going to break up the callous, it's going to feel rough, so you need the smooth side of the pumice to even out the skin. A pumice stone is used for reducing callous buildup.

What are 'toe separators'?
Toe separators are something that are applied after the pedicure is completely finished. You insert them in between each toe, so when you're applying polish, the toes aren't touching each other where the polish is getting onto the other toe.

What is a 'foot file'?
A foot file has a handle on it, that has two different sides to it – almost like a sandpaper, and it's held in the hand. The coarser side is used to take down a heavier build up of a callous, and the other softer side of the file is going to smooth it down. A foot file is great because of the way it's shaped. It has a handle on it, so you can really hold on to it while you're doing the motions of back and forth and when you have to get to the back of the heel. You can really hold on to it in the positions that might be more difficult.

How often do I need a pedicure?

It depends on the individual, because some people are harder on their feet. You could have a pedicure, on average, once every three or four weeks. During hot season, you may want to have a pedicure once every two weeks, so that they are fresh, because you have open toe shoes. You need to have a nice manicure or pedicure, with bright fun colors.
How can a pedicure keep my feet healthy?
A pedicure can keep your feet healthy, and by removing callouses, it's going to relieve pressure. You don't want to take off too much callous. A lot of people are filing their own callouses at home, but they're actually taking off too much callous. You need that skin to protect the wear and tear that we do every day on our feet. Clipping toenails and pushing back cuticles carefully will keep your toenails in very good health. You also need to be very careful that people aren't using razor blades on your callouses.
